(non-Executive) employees approved for a new 2021 Ford GT allocation from Ford Motor Company on March 27, 2019. The vehicle was finally built and delivered on October 30, 2021. This vehicle was never dealer prepped and includes all factory film protection, seat covers and steering wheel cover. It retains the full factory warranty coverage until 10/30/24\n\nIt has always been stored inside a climate-controlled warehouse under the factory indoor car cover and an additional plastic cover over top to protect the factory car cover from any dirt and dust.\n\nIt was important to me to be able to show this car to as many car enthusiasts as possible and not have it simply stored away in a dark corner of a storage unit. Fortunately, the warehouse where I store the car holds a First Saturday of the Month car show where enthusiasts are able to come see the car and ask questions about it.\n\nSome will ask how I could resist not taking this beauty out for a spin? I retired from Ford Motor Company in the fall of 2017 and, for my retirement gift, I spent part of a day driving one of our prototype Ford GT\u2019s at our Dearborn Proving Grounds. I was fortunate to be able to fully experience the thrill and capability of this car! For GT owners who will drive their cars, I suggested they put 5000 miles on it before the warranty expires to debug the car and fix every flaw at Ford\u2019s expense. These cars are completely hand built and no two are alike. Some new GT\u2019s require very little work but whatever is done is very expensive. Replacing my leaking radiator was a 20+K job even though the leak was small. A couple other small items involved a lot of work and 5 figure fixes but it didn\u2019t cost me a dime. All covered by warranty. If the car isn\u2019t going to be driven then it doesn\u2019t matter. But if it is going to be driven it should be driven A LOT during the 6 months left on this cars warranty, at least 2 or 3 thousand miles. Get it into a good GT service dealership for a thorough inspection before the warranty times out. My GT was pretty trouble free and still during the 5500 miles I put on it in the first 36 months Ford did 40+K in warranty work. My GT has been out of warranty now for 4 years and in that time I\u2019ve only spent $800 to replace a small hydraulic actuator (plus routine oil changes & service). You\u2019ll save a lot of $ if you find out everything that\u2019s wrong or going to go wrong during the cars first 36 months.
