The Mitsu had a temperament to overheat, these Mazda engines will go for 100's of Ks before needing to be rebuilt. \r\n\r\nThe \"ticking\" sound in the write up is the hydraulic lifters. They get clogged with carbon build up and are oil starved on a cold start. After the engine oil gets to temp it will go away. This is a beautiful piece of machinery from a bygone era and as many people reading this will know, these 90-93 Japanese built B2600\u2019s are becoming quite rare and hard to find. From my understanding there have only been 2 of these trucks sold on BaT with the last being over 2 years ago. This is the LE-5 model which I believe is the highest trim model of this truck ever listed on BaT. I recently bought a new car so I\u2019ve reluctantly decided to sell to so somebody else can enjoy the truck as much as I have.\r\n\r\nA bit of backstory\u2026 From what I was told by the second owner, the original owner was a woman who was gifted the truck by her dad and it mostly sat in the driveway unused. The second owner who I bought the truck from was a military information officer and used the truck infrequently as he was often deployed. I've owned this truck since 2011 and have put on around 5-6000 miles a year. This was my sole vehicle for a number of years and I would take it on vacation to places like Lake Chelan, Bend Oregon as well as to local hiking trailheads in the Cascade mountains. I've take excellent care of the truck and have put over $3000 into the vehicle over the past year including a new ECM and clutch. I had the oil changed regularly and the vehicle was street parked in Seattle 4 days of the week while the remaining 3 days of the week it was parked in my girlfriends condo garage. It's been an amazing truck to own and I get stopped probably once a month by people that love it and want to know more about it.\r\n\r\nThe images and video speak for themself. Atkins Rotary had several shipping containers of NOS parts several years ago; I snagged the last Japan-made NOS steering column switches a few years ago. \r\n\r\nHard-to-find parts are 4x4-specific body parts and trim, so having those in excellent condition as these appear to be - like the black plastic fender flares - add considerable value to this example, in my opinion. Mine are chalky and I\u2019ll probably need to use trim paint on mine. \r\n\r\nI\u2019ve also yet to find NOS seat covers - mine has the same issue with cracking vinyl. I\u2019d think an upholstery shop could do a good job making a copy from the original, but probably not an exact match. I actually contacted an upholstery shop nearby to see about fixing the drivers seat tear but in the end I thought it would be best to just let the new owner make the judgment call on whether they want to replace/repair the upholstery. Another route would be to just buy the driver seat from another b2600 that's in a bit better condition. I've seen a few listed on used car part websites.\n\nI know that company you are referring to that used to fix the ECM's. I think they were based out of Florida if I'm not mistaken. Replacing the ECM once in the lifetime of the vehicle is almost guaranteed with these trucks. From what I remember, the capacitors eventually leak fluid onto the board and short it out. It's a known thing with these trucks. I asked my mechanic about it last year and he said I might need to change the battery as the current one is close to 10 years old or otherwise it might just need to have the injectors cleaned. Otherwise, there are zero issues when the engine is running. It purrs like a kitten and runs perfectly smooth. \n\nI think I'm going to try and shoot a video tomorrow that shows the truck starting up, running and driving. The LE-5 is the \"luxury\" trim while the SE-5 is the \"sport trim. the difference is the SE-5 has \"trailer mirrors\" all trim, mirrors, bumpers are in black, sport steering wheel and a bench seat as standard. This one is optioned with the drop in bedliner which can cause water to sit between the liner and the bed causing rust.
