Also, do not do more than a mild tune, if any at all. The motor was a new replacement with warranty and has 37000 or so miles on it. This truck has been garaged kept since new. Used for towing and running back and forth to AZ. 90% of the miles are road miles. It has a programmer and a filter bypass tube which is currently not installed on truck for smog reasons. Truck has been well maintained and runs like a dream. I replaced the stereo and speakers a couple of years back. Also added sound insulation to the doors. After the 50k warranty I put the programmer and bypass tube on it. Like mentioned below it made crazy power. Although towing was done in stock mode for EGT temp reasons I drove this truck on level 4 for 90,000 miles. It had passing power on the hwy second to none... in the end it cost me a new motor. Hard lesson learned but certainly not the fault of the engine. This new motor was left in stock mode and got better milage etc with the programmer. I have a fleet of Ford f-350 & f-450 from 1975 up to 2023. Until recently I had several of the 6.4's in the fleet with no issues. Good maintenance has never let me down. This truck is nice enough to display at a car show. Like I mentioned earlier, garage kept since 2009, used for hauling the family back and forth to the river house. I have a throw away car for my daily driver.
