I had an \u201887 with the automatic and overdrive\u2014327,000K miles when my daughter totaled it! All original. This series of Volvo\u2019s were incredible machines. Built like a tank, yet relatively lightweight (3,000#!), great gas mileage for a family wagon (27-28 mpg for me!), and ridiculously easy to maintain. Check out the room in the engine compartment\u2014you can almost climb in to service! Someone is going to get a great car! I've had many Volvos, including an 86, and always surprised during startup how they wobble in the engine compartment but the car doesn't move at all. It's like a 'full floating' engine I guess (like the rear ends). These are such rock solid cars. They just go and go. Dad had 400,000 miles on his, I had 280,000 on mine, and you hear all the time about 1, 2, and 3 million miles on these classic Volvos.
