I have a Red/Tan 89 w 18K miles and love it ! \r\n\r\n I like the dash configuration of the 90-91 a little better, but the Touchscreen of the 88-89 was pretty radical tech for the day ! \r\n\r\nI don't normally like the \"50 shades of silver\" car colors that are prevalent now, but this Gunmetal gray over gray is very classy ! \r\n\r\nHeadlight motors (complete and rebuild kits) are available, but not sure why this one is only operating with engine on? Antennas are also available\r\n\r\nQuestions : 1) service data on carfax is very sparse and only shows some oil changes. Do you have any service receipts or handwritten notes of other services done?\r\n\r\nEx: Brake fluid changes on Tevas are very important... any done?\r\nTrans fluid, coolant, spark plugs, wires, ICM and coil pack? MAS sensor and Crank sensor? \r\n33 year old electronics are due to fail in the near future, LOL ask me how I know. !\r\n\r\nAll these are common issues on the 3.8 engine, which is a GREAT little engine BTW. Not really hard or expensive to service (except the Tevas pump system which can be a little expensive.)\r\n\r\n2) Does the radio, CD and Cassette work? How are the speakers? They also have a tendency to deteriorate. Again, OEM (or near) available at reasonable cost.\r\n\r\nIn short, nothing that cannot be updated or replaced as needed, but it would be reassuring to see what has already been done ! I'm sure your grandparents were almost religious about taking care of this car ! \r\n\r\nWhen these came out, they were almost as expensive as a Corvette. The reason why the miles are so low is my grandparent test drive cars and write reports on them so basically my grandparents just left it on a charger and drive it occasionally so it wasn\u2019t neglected. But yes you are right something this old things to start to break. Back in 2015-16 I got my license and that they would let me drive it and it had all the same problems that it has today. With the headlight and antenna. They just didn\u2019t repair it because it was just a car they were collecting for either my sister or I. With the antenna not going up the radio works fine and the stereo sounds good. For the CD/Cassette my grandparents said it worked when they gave me the car last year but truthfully I haven\u2019t tried it.
