I should have been more specific for I assumed there would be shots from a dead standstill which are not found in any of the three videos \r\n\r\nThe gear box is so sloppy on every one of these I have driven (six in all) that you need to be lucky finding second gear as opposed to fourth and lugging out due to loss of revs. I am a highly coordinated person (former professional baseball player) with hand eye coordination that is above average and I have driven a stick since I was 16. I am 60. Virtually all my cars are prewar manual transmission including one of the most treasured Duesenbergs on the planet, multiple real Auburn speedsters, prewar two door convertible Cadillacs, a \u201836 Terraplane truck, a \u201838 and \u201841 Diamond T truck that requires double clutching and a whole host of other odd and lost prewar marques. My biggest frustration is shifting my \u201848 mouse unless I rev the heck out of it in first gear and slam it into what I hope is 2nd gear. Downshifting is also just as eventful to climb small hills etc. I keep looking for solutions to solving this problem and I am\r\nOk spending more than the car is worth to accomplish this. I love the lines and everything about these cars except the shifting issues. I have even considered turning it into an EV. Three year wait. Any help on this appreciated. These were not intended to be performance machines and are delightful for use as their intended purpose without modification. \r\nShifting requires a very patient and delicate touch, as the gears are straight cut and rudimentary synchros are only on the upper gears and probably badly worn by now. Shifting requires a very delicate, three finger grasp on the shift lever and a slow shift with a pause between gears. \r\nThese tiny transmissions also perform much better with the use of a \"double clutching\" technique for shifts up AND down. Also, one often starts in second gear, as first is almost a low, low gear for hills or loads, and second does not have a proper synchro on it.\r\nFirst gear, clutch, neutral, release clutch, pause, clutch again, and then second ear.\r\nSecond gear, clutch, neutral, release clutch, pause, clutch again and then third gear. \r\nThe use of either a tight, death grip on the shifter, OR a fast, direct bang from one gear to the next will cause painful and damaging grindng.
