So what is the actual wheelbase? Some info for non-LR folks. D130's actually have a 127 inch wheelbase although I think some original ones (I think they were NGO ambulances) were actually 130 inch. So why did they call it a 130. Reason being was marketing. 130 rolls off the tongue a bit easier than 127. To continue the thought D110's actually have a 109 inch wheelbase just like Series 2/2A & 3 - 109's. LR named them 110's to distinguish them from Series 109's. They didn't want any confusion there. D90's are actually a 92.9 inch wheel base but again a Defender 92.9 just doesn't roll off the tongue! LR in the Special Vehicle Operations department did build some 147's. The were used in a couple of amusement parks for jungle rides. I used to have the 19j engine in a 1988 LR 90 and it could barely hold 50mph.
