On the final Sunday race, I was working hard to keep my position, and didn't lift by the sound booth. I got black flagged for sound by 2dB. I ended up adding a small inline muffler section that was just enough to keep it under. It is a little long, and I have met it with my shin once or twice. I run Vavoline VR-1, with a Wix 51515R filter. With it being new, I also run the Lucas TB zinc plus additive. \r\nMotor runs happy. About 190 oil temp on average. Cooler at Laguna, a little warmer at Willow in late spring (without the fan). Oil pressure is about 70 at 6000rpm, when oil at temp. \r\n\r\nThe prior motor I ran, made 90hp to the wheels. It was built in 2002, and still hasn't been freshened. It just keeps spinning. The rear floors were replaced with flat metal, with no contours nd seat tracks. I believe it was done to transition to a rarace car. From the information that came with the car, the bodywork was reportedly done by a professional, the paint work was done by the owner. It presents well as a race car. It would not as a show car. The car is stored in doors, and as with all my cars, classics, as well as race cars, with no rinse wash and shine, panel by panel. Gert was always at the back of the pack but was running a very stock motor with a Judson supercharger at the time. When I bought the car in 2007 my son raced it successfully a few times and by then it had a decent motor putting out about 75 HP. I tested it a few times and it handled beautifully, slight oversteer and always won it's class in GP1.\r\n\r\nMy son got married and started having kids so it languish in the garage under a car cover for a few years. We finally sold it to the current owner who is a good friend and neighbor.\r\n\r\nHe is a total car guy and has a garage full of beautiful cars he has restored.
