First off, \u201cBeauty is always in the eye of the beholder\u201d, and for me this started 17 years ago when I first saw #005 and fell in love with the car and GN history. Remember, this is the little engine that could and did, with six cylinders. \r\n\r\nI was really impressed with Buick\u2019s exit plan for the GN. The GNX was the culmination of all the GN years with some pazazz . The special relationship shared with Buick and McLaren/ASC brought performance history and ground breaking turbo/suspension technology. Garrett turbo with ceramic impeller may have been the first of its kind providing faster turbo spool up. Engine is comfortable to drive in traffic and everyday use (I wish), or pressing the power curve. Beautiful tuned exhaust sound. GM wasn't painting cars with million dollar robots back then, but I've kept it as nice as I can without overdoing anything by sanding out orange peel or heavy paint correction. Just careful light polishing and hand waxing. The headliner was done to an extremely high standard and looks perfect. We discussed the failing bumper fillers last time I detailed the car and came to the mutual decision that just because they were the original ones doesn't mean they shouldn't be replaced. Trying to save sticky, leaching, disintegrating plastic would have been futile. Seller sourced OEM replacements from a well-known GNX vendor and from the photos it appears they came out just excellent. GNX #005 has been well documented and well cared for since day one.
