Driving experience was very enjoyable, ran it through all the gears and noted a bit of grinding downshifting into 2nd (Adam was forthcoming about this in advance and said once you\u2019re used to the finesse required for the gearbox it rarely grinds). \r\n\r\nPaint work was just ok, and there\u2019s silver overspray on the underbody and the wheel liners are starting to peel. \r\n\r\nNo rust noted at all in the trunk in the usual areas (under the spare) and the engine bay is extremely clean. \r\n\r\nFuture owners may want to conduct a suspension and steering refresh as it hasn\u2019t been touched during >10 years of ownership. The springs in particular look like they could benefit from replacement, but not an immediate need. \r\n\r\nThe A/C blows cold and stereo is a really nice touch as there\u2019s no ugly head unit spoiling the classic looks (everything is controlled via Bluetooth from the phone).\r\n\r\nInterior is just as gorgeous as it looks in the photos and a great complement to the silver exterior.\r\n\r\nOverall a really solid driver car. They were very different cars, both very nice. The BMW 2002 (single carb) was a much softer and comfortable car, it felt more like a car you would take a long trip in comfort in. The GTV in comparison is a car you could take the same long trip in but accidently arrive 2 hours earlier with a big grin on your face after all the twisty windy roads. I drove the GTV on pretty long trips over time, once from Houston to Detroit for the national AROC convention, boy that was a fun time.
