When I opened the post and read it, I immediately called and put a deposit on it. I was lucky enough to be the first of over 100 callers to buy the car. I bought a ticket to fly in to Dulles 2 days before Thanksgiving and brought the car home. I\u2019ve researched with the help of many, including VWOA and confirmed it is a true 1 of 1 factory mistake. Volkswagen of America has even provided a COA attesting to its rarity of being the only one of its kind. We were unable to find any other instances of a factory mistake paint color happening. As a result of the social media post blowing up, VWOA Product Manager for the Golf R used this car as the catalyst for bringing the Spektrum program to the US. The MK7.5 with the 7 SPD DSG is far superior driving experience especially on the highway when the RPM in 7th gear is 800 lower than the 6 speed DSG. The 7.5 is quieter when cruising, significantly higher MPG than what was advertised, the engine isn\u2019t working as hard buzzing along at an unnecessary high RPM and better resale value.
