I acquired it in 2020 from a seller in Kansas. He previously acquired it from old, retired Marine. In 2021, I sent it to Jimmy Strauss Jeep shop for refurbishment. Body, frame and some parts were media blasted and refinished. Parts rebuilt. It isn't perfectly restored to pristine condition due to fund and chose where to focus works on. As shown, there are dents on body but it's better than before. In a way it fits the character and history of the jeep. To augment additional detail, it has 24-volt electrical system, blackout front lights, slave receptacle on the side. The paint color is actually USMC Forest Green 24052 to be specific. There are items, little things that I haven't mentioned. Mine was also missing parking brake, not a hard fix and when adjusted it works well. The M38a1 is built like a tank definitely the toughest of the 1/4 tons ever used by the military. It was the first bent fender jeep, the CJ5 was based on the M38a1.
