Here\u2019s the timeline of the repairs that were performed under my ownership:\r\nMay 2022: Purchased\r\nJune 2022: (4) New BG Goodrich tires\r\nJuly 2022: AC Recharge, Oil Change\r\nAugust 2022: \r\n\tNew AC Compressor & 134a Refrigerant\r\n\tNew Oil Pressure Sensor\r\n\tNew misc. vacuum hoses and fittings.\r\n\tComplete carb rebuild\r\n\tNew TPS (Fixed the lockup-torque converter issue)\r\nApril 2023: New Cruise Control Servo\r\nMay 2023: New Mufflers\r\nJune 2023: Oil Change\r\nJuly 2023: New Water Pump\r\nAugust 2023: New Fan Clutch, Hoses, & Belts\r\n\r\nAs noted in the description, everything works except the windshield wiper pump. A/C works, Cruise Control works. Even the Computer Command Control (CCC or 3C) computer controlled engine management system works. When the car arrived, the torque converter wasn\u2019t locking. The carburetor rebuild revealed a TPS stuck at 5V, tricking the CCC into believing the throttle was pinned full time. $10 part replaced, torque converter now locks.\r\n\r\nPlease ask any and all questions you may have. Automatic transmissions have a torque converter between the engine and transmission. Torque converters provide a fluid coupling which provides smoothness and the ability to stop a vehicle without using a manual clutch. Modern torque converters have a mechanism where they mechanically lock after reaching top gear. This provides a 1:1 coupling with no loss, which increases gas millage. When I purchased the car, the unit was not locking into 1:1 mode after reaching 3rd gear. This particular car features an electronically controlled lock up converter, which is controlled by the engine ECU. The ECU was not sending the lock signal to the transmission because the TPS was stuck at +5 volts. I had a GMC Cabellero 305 4bbl and the power to weight ratio was excellent and the handling was just fun. It had a good ride but it stayed level around a corner. When you were making a turn or coming off a stoplight you could be rolling 5 or 10 mph and give it a little extra throttle and get that \"feel good\" little bit of acceleration. Over the decades I've driven, rented and owned and sold many G bodies. They were a staple of my inventory on my little used car lot. I could put a inexpensive wheel and tire package on any G body brand and be it a wagon, sedan or two door it would sell quickly. Anyone that's owned one can attest to their decent handling and in the era they were a great value. There is also a thick application of an oily substance on many of the internal body panels. This appears to be a professionally applied, anti-corrosion \"undercoating\" meant to preserve cars in Winter climates. I'll mark this as opinion because I don't have any paperwork to document when or who applied these materials. I'll look closer this afternoon to see if there are any decals on the car that might give further clues.
