So the when purchased the car yes had AW70 4 speed, the owner did tell me the trans had small leak turned out a bit more. After several attempts to get it sealed thought we had it shortly after the AW70 torque converter failed, shift clutches failed. So time for new transmission. The AW70 had overdrive car was faster, but gear shifter only slots for 3 speed, so low gear not shiftable. So rather than try to locate another AW70 went to BW35. Yes I bought the car to be weekend driver. Drove around town. Always stored indoors public storage bay. Still have 95% of the conversion hardware. The 4th gear is an overdrive and controlled via a special overdrive relay and a momentary switch (the 240's and 740's had a special floor shifter with a button built in the shift knob for this). So, there is no 4th gear selector in the shift gate. If you still have the special bellhousing adapter and other linkage bits, that is a plus for the next owner. Can you show a pic of these parts?\r\n\r\nThe fuel tank cover is specially made of metal and extra fastened as if it were the tank itself. Pics 117 -120. The addition of the K&N filter cone filter on the manifold makes it a \"hot\" air intake, pic 135. The original through the radiator support hose and filter in the nose is a better \"cold\" air intake, which along with a stock 4-2-1 exhaust manifold and down pipe will improve performance. Easy to source those parts and put back to stock. The 2018 shop record compression test shows low compression on #3 and #4. Do you have any current compression test results? \r\n\r\nThe stock steering rods look to be in place, so the mention of rack and pinion steering is questionable. More undercarriage pics needed to fully assess but looks like a nice clean 1800E. \r\n\r\nGreat documentation, ownership history with the window sticker and \"indento\" plate. My 73ES started its life as a BW35 car. However, since I had a very rusty ES parts car which was a manual, I simply swapped, including the rear axle (Auto/Manual rear ends have a different ratio). Rear end ratios may be readily changed by your local Jeep gear change specialist. Swapping auto/manual may readily be done with automatic 1800s, 140s and 240s as the pedal box doesn't change with transmission.
