You definitely have done your homework on modifying a Lincoln Mark 8! I wish the original owner had transferred the paperwork for the original upgrades done in the '90s! I know it has a super tunes module plugged into the computer that has the custom tune on it. There is a somewhat custom air box with a k&n filter in it but it could probably use improving. The tune has the transmission shifting really hard but I do not think there's a stall converter in the transmission. The other shop I took it to earlier this year that blew up my supercharger (which is why I had to get it rebuilt) did a chip swap with a custom tune that unbeknownst to me turned off the check engine light and they disconnected the EGR valve so I couldn't get it through emissions for months! Even after many times telling them I was having problems! The EGR system was hooked back up and the supertunes modules was plugged back in then I passed. SMH. I still have the custom tune chip but the performance gaines that they did were negligible. The car was faster with the old tune. SMH. That's very good. That's what you want in these cars. When they shift soft, they're slipping. there was a technical service bulletin from Ford on most or maybe all years of these marks, to change the fluid with full synthetic and put in a transmission oil cooler. without it these transmissions will start to shudder and eventually fail. generally the fluid change will make a shuddering transmission not shutter anymore. lots and lots of information, albeit old and partially archived at the Lincolns of Distinction forum.
