Handling was dialed in and gave better track handling with the bonus of a smoother ride around town. As mentioned, stripes could be removed because they are decals. When I was younger with boy racer testosterone I loved the stripes. Older now, not necessarily wiser, but prefer to travel under the radar.so I prefer no stripes. The Lemans blue is stunning color and even nicer in sunlight. But no Lemans blue on the Z06 without the Commemorative Edition package. Z16 option IIRC. \n405 brake horsepower doesn\u2019t seem that outrageous in these days of 550 hp plus being the norm. But the C5 Z06 weighs about the same as a Honda Civic. And with excellent weight distribution. That makes these cars a force to be reckoned with performance wise, even 21 years later. These are rocket ships. \nThis CE Z06 has been driven. That\u2019s refreshing. My' '66 Convertible was my Fav, until shortly after I purchased this particular C5 ZO6. At the time of our purchase I lived in rural Oregon. She was purchased from the original Ist owner only approx, 5 miles from my place. This is The very best Corvette the I've ever owned by far and of the many I've driven. C5's are a different breed and the particle model is outstanding. She has driven routinely keeping everything exercised and lubricated, but only on clear days and never in the rain or inclement weather. \r\n\r\nThe items that come with are; the Owners manual, air pump kit, car cover (a choice of 1 of 2), 2 keys with FOB's, factory mats, new Lloyd Mats, covers for the 3 trunk storage bins, seat covers, GM matched paint chip repair Kit, and the noise blocker that in under the rear window. I'm looking for the original window sticker and a spare decal kit. THe move from OR to AR was a task, a few boxes disappeared. My Son also lived in OR and worked in AK, He is searching through unopened boxes - looking for the sticker and decal kit.\r\n\r\nCar physical condition. She' s never been in an accident, no scratches, never buffed or blocked, There where 3 tiny chip repairs all repaired. One was on the passenger side to the right of the seat probably from letting the seat belt loose too rapidly.\r\n\r\nThere were 2 small roundish chips in the passenger side quarter panel forward of the rear tire. All have been repaired and are very difficult to see. There may be tiny scratches, none I could see. \r\n\r\nI, we, take very good care and maintenance of our cars , drive them regularly.\r\n\r\nEverything on this car operates and is in good working order. There are no engine check light or any codes on other modules , I check all of my cars regularly.\r\n\r\nThis has been a fabulous car to own and drive, a wonderful car to drive and a to me a stunning color.\r\n\r\nShe is driven regularly but limited miles. OIl & filter changes are completed more often than required. (small detail but huge when it comes to maintenance. ( My knuckles know this) IIRC sway bar bushings tweaked. No. Valve train issues. I\u2019m aware of the fuel tank issue but it is supposedly overblown. No issues with mine. Sending unit will quit working. Supposedly many owners have had success fixing this issue by simply running a few tanks of IIRC Chevron premium plus. Steering column lock issue\u2026. never was resolved through the entire model run. So first thing I bought was a column lock bypass. The part is in the glovebox, waiting for the inevitable failure of the column lock. I find 2025 not exactly rare. But the Mopar crowd goes silly over the rarity of the Demon Challengers, and those sit at 3300. So the C5 Z06 CE definitely has the upper hand rarity wise. Canada only got IIRC 142 examples. Those cars have a unique speedometer that goes up to300 MPH and the (TMU) very rare block heater option. 300 mph speedo always starts conversations. In 2022 Haggerty rated the Z06 as a top ten \u201c bullish\u201d car to buy from a collectibility and investment POV. Personally speaking, I\u2019ve never lost money on a Corvette. And way down the road, I don\u2019t think collectors/ enthusiasts will turn their nose up at a well sorted, well preserved high mileage example. I\u2019d not refuse to consider a high mileage \u201865/66 Shelby Mustang . Some cars transcend mileage as they age and become more valuable, more legendary . I think the C5 Z06 may be one of these.
