After the first two semesters, I took a break, went home, got a job and started looking for a 1965 or '66 Corvair Corsa Turbo. I didn't mind driving the 128 since I suggested the car to my father but I wanted my own car. My father really didn't think that I should buy a used car, the Fiat being only a year old, so he told me that I could have either his '65 Ford Custom 500 or the 128 and do anything with them. Well the wheels started spinning in my brain and I thought that I could make the Ford into a Fred Lorenzen tribute car and for the Fiat build something similar to this Fiat using Al Cosentino's FAZA catalog for the parts; Abarth parts, Campy wheels, ANSA exhaust, dual Webers, and on and on. It was so tempting, but in the end, I really wanted a Turbo Corvair, so I found one and bought it, and drove cross-country with it. By the way, that '74 128 of my dad's went coast-to-coast 4 or 5 times, and once down to Mexico City, Mexico.
