Both are well sorted and don\u2019t do anything stupid. When driving in these events at, let\u2019s call it an \u201centhusiastic pace\u201d on some of the best roads in the country, often nose to tail it, behooves you to know who you\u2019re running with, and if their car and judgment are sound. Quickly you learn to notice things like who\u2019s got sticky tires that look like they\u2019re inflated correctly, improve suspension and safety devices such as a bar, or belts beyond era-correct or single lap belts in some cases. The same goes for little tells like PCA, VARA or SCCA stickers, and in many cases, the owners show up with their cars decked out in some livery they always loved and enjoy a season or two of rolling tribute. This one is not hard to attribute to a certain movie about a race track in France\u2026\n\nI have done this to several of my vehicles, a JPS Lotus, BRE Datsun, etc. They were all temporary, and this one can be de-oranged if you wish in about 30 minutes. It\u2019s vinyl - not a tattoo. Fuchs \nRestoration could repaint in satin black with polished rims and have the wheels back to factory original for a very reasonable fee and you\u2019d be sitting at the perfection you\u2019d like. That said, if you admire the dentist next-door who has a perfect 912 with original hubcaps and paint verified by the thickness meter he happens to carry in his glove box along with the original window sticker and overused buffing cloth\u2026 you might not find your forever car with this one. But while you\u2019re out dealing with the anxiety of a potential rock chip that you will have to work out with your therapist on Monday, somebody else will be relieving their stress rowing through the gears, and pretending they are Steve McQueen\u2026 \n\nFinally, those that know, understand the massive distance between having a really pretty car that\u2019s put together using a bunch of nice parts and one that is sorted by somebody who knows what they\u2019re doing. This is the latter, I believe the guy is a PCA driving instructor and this car would take you two years to get set up right if starting from scratch. I\u2019d rather start DRIVING with the keys that are included in this sale. I agree that sometimes the cars that are putt together with a lot of expensive parts, at times those parts may not be engineered to work well with each other, or the cars aren\u2019t sorted all that great. The dentist next door\u2019s car may be a top-notch original car but that\u2019s not what I am looking for either. I know these cars well and I am looking for a guilt free car I can hammer whenever I want, that\u2019s well sorted so I don\u2019t have to take time and effort going through the whole car. I don\u2019t really care about the body cosmetics on this one as long as its sold and doesn\u2019t have any issues with the panels that need attention to avoid a bigger cost down the road.
