The truck likes to cruise at 70 mph plus.\r\nThe hp, torque, gearing and cam seem to come together at that speed. From there you can easily go up to 80/90 with no problem. The rear end does have a mini spool and gives you that hotrod feel of welding the spider gears together like back in the day. I like to do all work myself so this was my first interior sewing job. Just an old hotrod daily driver. I have other builds on my list and waiting to get in the shop. I have been told it could be either a synchronizer or the nylon bushing on the shifter. With the engine output and gearing 5th gear is too tall. That thumper camshaft that makes that beautiful lumpy idle sound makes less power and torque down low than a stock camshaft. Great for showing off (like I like to do) but not so great for practicality. I certainly wouldn\u2019t change it. It\u2019s perfect for what this rod is for. Slowly backing into your parking spot at CNC. The fifth gear synchro fix on a t5 is pretty simple for the shade tree hot rodder. But in this case fourth gear is all you need so it\u2019s a non issue. This truck is in a body/year style you don\u2019t see often.
