But if you do...they are pretty incredible. Last summer I joined a friend with a newer Shelby Raptor heading out to the Racetrack Playa in Death Valley (incredible scene where the rocks move across the playa when its wet leaving tracks that dry in the mud). It's 30 miles of bad road to get there and most people were crawling along at 20 mph. We flew over the rocks, sand and obstructions at more than twice that speed. Do I want one? Not really. Was it good to have such a formidable tool for a journey like that? Absolutely. For the right driver it seems there is nothing comparable. Hope this one goes to a home where they will let it off the leash. Living in the flatlands of New Orleans, I sadly don't have many opportunities nearby to take this truck off road as much as I'd like.\r\n\r\nHowever, the special suspension for high speed desert running makes this truck ride so smoothly on pavement (especially our poor condition streets), it's an easy truck to live with in the 'burbs. The width takes a little getting used to, especially when parking. You'll find it's easier to just back into a spot.\r\n\r\nWith all the creature comforts like Apple CarPlay, heated/cooled leather seats and so much more, it's like a luxury car. But it's off road prowess is simply incredible as I have taken mine to a couple of off roading parks. Just remember the width if you're on a tight trail!\r\n\r\nIt is my daily and the one I seem to choose first when going on an errand run. I probably have too many cars at the moment, but if I had to choose to keep only one, the Raptor would be it. I can confidently say these raptors are the greatest trucks ever built. I have had a 2012 Screw 1G Raptor, 2017 Screw Raptor, and now I\u2019m onto my third one (2019 Screw Raptor). I sold my first one with 65K miles on it (I personally put about 40k, owned for 2 years) and literally only lost about $2k vs what I paid for...in TWO years. These things hold their value incredibly. I broke even on my second raptor, as I only kept it for about 8 months due to moving and upgrading my wife\u2019s car :)\r\nThese things have improved tremendously in terms of shifting - sport mode gets a little shifty, but I recently got the Roush Level 2 Powerpack installed (PCM, calibration/tune and exhaust) and this thing ROARS. The sound is absolutely perfect, really sounds like a v8, and the added torque is very noticeable. I have taken mine off roading twice (although I get scared to scratch it up) and it seriously performs amazing. I will ALWAYS have a raptor in my garage until I\u2019m dead. Whoever purchased this should buy with confidence, realize this is an extremely reliable truck and that all parts are obviously super easily attainable by any Ford dealer. I got my first Raptor in \u201813 and this is my 4th. This is the best one yet (2nd super cab). Never been off road. Things like a Mercedes in luxury and one the meanest stock truck you can buy until the Trx comes available for $40k more. Don\u2019t wanna get rid of it but it\u2019s time. A few people asked some questions and I\u2019ll try to be as helpful as I can. I can\u2019t find the window sticker. Pretty sure it was a $65k ish msrp. I drove it for the past year + n it doesn\u2019t have any lane change feature so I don\u2019t think it has \u201cthe technology package\u201d locking rear diff, I think is standard on these trucks n I\u2019ve got no indication about a front Torsten diff. I wish I could take this thing off road but around here there\u2019s not too many options so it\u2019s been relegated to speed bumps at 50mph n donuts in the snow. I\u2019ve a good idea what it\u2019ll go for and I promise it\u2019s a bargain.
