I spec\u2019d this car at BMW of Rockville in Maryland and it arrived here in April of 2021. I spec\u2019d the car in as lightweight a configuration as possible, thus it has no sunroof and does not have the executive package which includes wireless charging and a heated steering wheel, which are both things I believe do not belong in a sports car. \n\nThe car went straight from the dealership to Glaswerks DMV where I used to work, it has never been driven without ppf. I have been a professional part-time car detailer for the last 10 years or so. At Glaswerks we paint corrected the entire car, applied full body ppf, coated the wheels, plastics, calipers and fender liners with Gyeon coatings. I have maintained this car meticulously and really only used it for spirited drives on nice roads on nice days. It has never been left outside overnight, been tracked, or been driven in inclement weather. I did all of this to prevent rust as best as possible. It has always been garage kept.\n\nBeyond this, I have also maintained the car mechanically completely on my own. I do not trust dealerships or anyone else to touch my cars. This is because I was a part time detailer at a Porsche dealership in college and there, I saw things I cannot unsee. I saw lot porters crash cars and regular maintenance done horribly wrong. Using my logic, I figured that if Porsche was that sloppy, then BMW must be just as bad or even worse, and so I did everything myself and only took the car to the dealer when 100% necessary. The engine oil was changed every 12 months (I only used Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w-30) and so was the differential and transmission fluid. Brake fluid (currently running motul rbf 600) and engine coolant were changed every 2 years. I have a quickjack and have been working on cars my entire life, so I am very comfortable doing regular maintenance such as this. I have kept detailed notes regarding all of the maintenance I have done to this car. \n\nThe only mods are an oil catch can, which I added since this is a direct injected engine, BMC air filters, which are great, and rogue engineering transmission mounts. All of this stuff can be removed if desired, all of it is very easy to take on and off and I have all of the stock parts. I also have the M performance pedal installed if that can be called a mod. \n\nBeyond that, this car has been detailed regularly and has never really gotten dirty. It has always been a second car and never daily driven, so I really was able to take great care of it. By not ordering Exec you received the standard non-articulating LED lights, which are distinguished by their halos, which are round instead of octagon-shaped like the adaptive lights. In '21 towards the end of the model run, BMW apparently ran out of the non-adaptive lights and for the last several months of production, and all M2c's started receiving the adaptive lights, even with no Exec package spec'd. This is one of those cars.
