I was told it was part of a estate auction that offered a large Ford collection. I did my best to decode the seat tag to figure out where they came from knowing they were not the originals, and the best I could determine they are from a 65 Comet. I have new interior door handles and the door locks I didn't install them, I was waiting until I got new door cards. The locks are keyed to match the ignition and trunk. Every part of the fuel system was replaced as was every brake component. The transmission leaks a little around the shift shaft seal. I replaced the shafts and seals twice to try and stop it but no luck. I admit getting the cover back on was a challenge so I likely damaged the seal hence the leak continues. The radio doesn't work and the heater motor squeaks. I think that is everything I know of that is a problem. The paint is pretty good but could use a good polish. Her dorm in Amherst MA was on the side of a steep hill and she told him after she got there it wouldn't get up the hill and she had to park in a street below. He was sure he could show her how it was done and the next time we visited her he put on a show and managed to totally smoke the clutch while barely making it. He grudgingly paid for a new clutch and nothing more was said. The Futura roofline seen here and the 4spd are really cool, but stay sheepish if a Slant Six Dart/Valiant gets frisky. That pathetic log intake manifold is part of the cylinder head casting and any attempt at \"hot-rodding\" the 140/170/200 six is a waste of time and money. We could not get it out to start is up, but everything I saw told me it was a low miles original and had not been turned over 100K miles.\r\n\r\nCheck the pedals, very little wear, but the rest of the car had no replacement parts that I could find. Now that you post the picture I can see that the outboard lower edges of both brake and clutch pedal have some wear that would be consistent with a higher mileage car, but everything else about this car seemed very low miles.\r\n\r\nI also needed to replace a bushing on my Falcon, one where the shaft of the pedal assembly connected to the side of the transmission. Three on the tree version, but this bushing was on the pedal shaft. White nylon bushing about the half the height of a spool of thread, it was very loose at 21 years old, even with only 29,000 miles.
