It was my \"daily\" for about 8 years but now only sees nice dry days. My VIN is almost 400 after this one & now has 89K miles. Mine is also Tornado Red however with Platinum interior. Mine's in very similar condition (even down to the K&N air filter sticker on the filter housing) perhaps slightly better due to front bumper not having suffered any bumps causing the alignment issue this one has. Also GREAT to see the Speedline wheels are still in good condition...testament to the care it's been given. \r\nSome observations...\r\n1. This being an early example the badges on the rear hatch are different, mine just has chrome Audi logo rings in the center. My guess is the rear hatch badges have been refinished in black. \r\n2. Hard to tell from pics but the leather on the door cards still appears to be securely attached. I had to have the foam padding behind this leather replaced, just deteriorated due to age.\r\n3. In the engine compartment the underhood light lense & plastic battery cover are missing.\r\n4. Missing the plastic tray under the engine, not unusual for these go missing due to road debris damage or some other cause.\r\n@ClassicJim, replacement of my headliner is next on my list (mine is sagging due to adhesive & foam failure). I once towed a Toyota pickup that we couldn\u2019t get straight of a ditch due to it being on a very narrow seasonal road at least a hundred yards in the ditch until we got to a driveway. We were able to tow it up onto the driveway and then it was free. I worked at an independent Audi/VW dealer at the time and all the technicians drove Quattros with tow straps in the trunk. If I correctly recall, only 1200 were imported and sold in the United States for the \u201890 and \u201891 model years. Most were 1990 models. They only came with a 5 speed manual transmission. I had a 1990 Ginster yellow one. Its was a demonstrator with 1,700 miles on the odometer when I purchased it for $19,999 from a Porsche + Audi dealer on corner of Rosecrans and Kemper Street (I think) near the San Diego Sports Arena. It was an incredible bargain at $20K. I loved that car. I drove it for over 70,000 miles with virtually no problems. It was rock solid. Ran as well at 75,000 miles as the day I drove it off the lot. The Zebrano wood was absolutely beautiful. Matte finished and tons of it! Especially the pieces on the long, heavy, and frameless doors! 120 miles per hour was as smooth and quiet as 65! Sold it to my ex when I bought my first BMW on my birthday in 1994. He drove it until 2001 when he bought his first BMW. It still had the original clutch when he sold it for $7K. Wish I had seen this ad before it was sold.
