Sure, they sound Kool on a 1/4 mile drag strip, but they are a real pain in the ass for a weekend driver. I will try to give you my understanding of the history of this 65. The owner in the 90s went to Coast Corvettes in Delta BC and ask them to recreate his car to his dream car. This it was the start of a frame off, Colour Change, 375HP replacement, leather interior and everything else he wanted. After a couple year process and completion of this endeavour this emerged as one beautiful 1965 Roadster. From that point the owner thought it was too nice to drive and decided to sell the car. The next owner enjoyed and babied the car for a couple years before he took ill and passed away. In his estate the car was willed to his friend my next door neighbour who was a corvette owner also. 8 years goes by and my neighbour decides to sell the car but with a full garage I had to pass and the car was sold to another friend of his. 2020 comes along and my garage had room so I reached out to the owner and brought the car back to our neighbour hood to the excitement of all. I have had the opportunity to take drives up thru the Rockies and wine country of BC with top down and a smile on my face. This information is all to the best of my knowledge and contacts in the corvette community around our city. A-O smith bodied could not be equipped with side pipes due to being shipped on rail cars to St Louis. The high rpm tach indicates a high horse power car 375 or 365. Neither of these engines could be equipped with power steering because of the 6 quart oil pan.
