We adore so many Ford, Chevy and Plymouth cars that we can lose site of the fact that a Cadillac was a superior car, and the low priced three were inferior. \n\nWhat was a better car then is a better car today. A Cadillac was it then, no car drove more comfortably, performed better for its size and weight, had better resale value and no car was more of an object of desire. \n\nToday, a Cadillac such as the auction car will sell for far less than a dolled up 58 Impala, a car built to the cost of its last washer. When I drive my old Cadillac I marvel at how much better it is to drive while costing less to own than a lesser car. \n\nI'm not big on modifications. But I am sympathetic to the installation of easily reversed components.
