I have the baby brother of this a 2005 same color combo but extended cab and short bed. Got it with 59K a couple years ago and it now has 72K after some long distance hauls. I put an S&B air intake as the OEM system is horrible and lets little air to the diesel. Also added the coolant filter kit to avoid known issues with the 6.0. Other than that. it was used just around home. The intent when I purchased the truck was for it to be my daily driver. Well, I couldn't part with my 2004 F150 so it was used to pull my 5th wheel to southern Utah twice. Now the 5th wheel stays in southern Utah, the truck sits in the garage. Stupid me, I got to the point I would only bring it out and drive it on a sunny day. As my wife puts it, \"My trophy truck\". As for Cali smog, I really have no idea. The truck has never had an issue passing Utah emissions. It runs great and has no known issues. I have a close contact that is a certified Ford mechanic. Drives a 6.0 for his personal vehicle. 6 plus years ago when I purchased the truck, I had him give it the once over. His comment \" If you don't buy it. I will\". The advice he gave me was to monitor my oil & coolant temps. Keep them within 15-20 degrees of one another. Don't heat it up and you won't have the common 6.0 issues. Thats the reasoning for the Edge monitor.
