In my experience, the shifting was a bit agricultural in nature on the earlier bikes, but it wasn't an issue. Just part of the experience. Maintenance time frames are longer with the wet clutches because the plates hold up better being bathed in oil.\r\n\r\nBut all in all, these are beautiful bikes regardless of the clutch. They are made for crossing continents in comfort.\r\n\r\nGood luck everyone. To answer the question about heated grips, photo 112 shows that the bike does have heated grips. The button is just inboard from the right grip. The button shows an icon of a grip with wavy lines going up. The bike for sale appears to have a number of options that were part of a comfort/convenience package back in the day . . . entertainment package, heated seats and chrome muffler, for example. The double overhead cam air/oil-cooled engines (introduced in 2010) have proven very reliable. My bike is currently at 62 thousand miles with zero issues. My bike also had the switch recall, though (like the bike for sale) I experienced no problems with my bike's original switches. The other recall which I didn't see mentioned in the narrative, but is listed on the service invoice is the fuel pump replacement. I had mine done at 50+ thousand miles. These are wonderful machines and this bike appears to be an exceptional example.
