I do recommend replacing the front cowling drains as they tend to both clog and deteriorate and the only water issues I ever had came from the engine bay. \r\nPersonally I prefer 14\" Minilite wheels as they offer better soft tire options, although the black BBS wheels on this 75' go well with the white paint. I also have Tii front struts/brakes, Bilsteins as well as poly bushings and larger anti-sway bars, and on rare occasions will even autocross my Baur, however I have added, and recommend a front strut brace before doing so. I was just about to say the same thing until reading your post. @caferacer59 The only real claim to fame a Baur can share with any real performance link is that they were made \"chassis wise\" along side the E26 BMW M1... kinda cool, but not much of anything rubbed off from the M division to the Baur examples as the Baur was geared more for open sport casual motoring. The Alpina examples were an entirely different animal and were much more like a M car but a bit more refined with less \"rawness\" then what an M car would offer in comparison. That philosophy I think was best showcased in the differences between the BMW Z8 and the Alpina version. But not to get too long winded about all this... the short answer is yes, like Alpina, Baur was working directly with BMW and was authorized to do so as BMW had not dived into the mass open air motoring world that much at that point, so bodies were sent to Baur to convert.... then back to BMW for marketing and sales through the dealerships. BMW provided factory warranties and included Baurs in their marketing campaigns as well.
