VW just started not allowing them to be imported with the VW logo a few years ago but before that time they didn't say anything.\n\nNow days people just import them with the logo shipped separately and then attach the logo after they are picked up from the dock. You are also free to sell a car already registered in the U S. with the VW logo on it so as long as you make it clear it's not a VW.\n\nI've owned more than my fair share of VW lookalike Sambars. It's unfortunate but there is a lot of misinformation out their about these. Just trying to set the record straight for anyone looking to buy this one from it's current owner.
