Very shortly it became a 61 Morris Mini Minor after the purchase of a bare body shell from a foreign auto wrecker in San Jose. Mini parts were cheaper than cheap in the 70s. I think I paid$100.00 for the used shell with no front sheet metal. SFMOA has always been a great organization and in no time I had a rear subframe tail lights a boot lid w/plate holder and a fiberglass front end. Had it together and operating before I had a CDL. I\u2019ll never forget the near head on with my pops at the blind crest leading to our st. Have owned several other minis over the years including a RHD 67 Cooper S. Still have the 62/61 Austin/Morris 850. I feel that it\u2019s time to put it back together since I finally acquired some disc brakes to replace the 7\u201d single leading shoe drum brakes. However it ended up confusing my wife so we decided to remove it, not to mention the car never ever left our sight and was always garaged. I found that a big yellow Club around the steering wheel works better as a deterrent and is included in the sale. As for the hidden ignition switch, the wiring is still there and you could easily get another switch from Kragen and install in in a matter of minutes. The Dynamat mat is great for sound deadening and surprisingly the cabin is fairly quiet. I bring my portable speaker if I want to listen to music but honestly listening to this engine is more enjoyable :-)\r\n\r\n@VanDijk I don't have the 850 engine. I never had it.
