The last two engine pictures are of the motor that was removed from the car by the prior owner, unfortunately for me he removed and sold it separately. I just wanted to include the photos to show what was in the car prior to my ownership. Prior owner stated that engine was sold to someone in California. I have logged hundreds of Falcon data plates with the intent of matching VIN sequences to build dates and this one does not compute. For example, my own 65 Falcon Ranchero had a build date of April 21 (21D code) but the sequential build number was 228885. The VIN sequences are specific to each plant with each plant starting with 100001 for each model year. This one shows the Lorain plant. My records show that a VIN sequence of 156084 should have a build date around December 20, 1964 (20M). I have seen several instances of VIN sequences being out of order with respect to the build dates but those have usually been a matter of days or at most a couple of weeks. I've never seen a sequence that was 4 months off.\r\n\r\nThe build date vs VIN sequence discrepancy is so jarring to me that I would tend not to rely on ANY of the data plate info as being accurate. In this case the car is so modified that little of the original data plate info applies anyway. Your assessment may be right, I personally don't know, but the title does match the H-M Plate. Like with a lot of past life drag cars, this one has been through probably a ton of changes through the years(obviously \r\ntubbed for one) so it's hard to say. If potential buyers are looking for a numbers matching original Falcon, this definitely isn't it. At the end of the day, this is a really cool '65, and I fully understand without a bunch of documentation of who owned the car, in each State, and the exact tracks it raced at with photos, that it's not one of those super rare well documented finds. It has a very fair reserve, and I absolutely welcome any personal or professional inspections, and encourage it. This car is Licensed and Registered in Nebraska, we are able to run Historical Plates in Nebraska, they have to be from the car's year of origin, and have to be approved by the State DMV. I only took the Registered Plate off to do the photos. I've included a pic of the Nebraska Plate for this car. With street tires this car is legal to drive on the street in Nebraska. You can read his response that says it did not show up in their files, but some of their files were trashed years ago, so their records are not complete.
