I remember when these were coming out at the dealerships back in the day (I was a Ford salesperson from '97-'20). We didn't get any allocations back in the day, But these were the \"halo car\" for Mustangs. These cars also have a very unique story. The KRs all had a full carbon fiber hood put on at the Vegas Shelby factory. When the cost came out of what they were IF they needed replacing (due to an accident) people freaked! $20K at first (and all damaged hoods MUST be sent back to SA so they aren't thrown into a V6 or GT and then made into a \"clone\"). \n\nThe price eventually dropped down to just under $10k. But the big issue (early on) was that some of the insurance companies didn't want to replace damaged OEM hoods with another due to their initial price. So some companies wanted to use an aftermarket hood (Cervinis, etc) but that didn't go over well with the customer.
