Said another way the supercharger is compressing more air at a much lower efficiency, the by-product being more heat, specifically the discharge temperature is near 300F, which is about 115F-125F hotter than a stock E55. \n\nSo additional cooling is definitely needed. It would be good to understand what additional cooling mods are installed on this car.\n\nWhen these cars were a few years old, they were dirt cheap ($7-8k range) and being modified with huge pulleys which either grenaded at high rpm or sheared off the crank keyway. Lots of E55s were destroyed and absued. \n\nMy recipe for longevity and reliability has always been a moderately sized pulley (like the Kleemann and early Evo), a larger throttle body and exhaust mods to help the M113K breathe. Additionally, I recommend installing the new Bosch pump for the intercooler, it is the best design to date and from the new twin turbo E63s and bolts right in, its less than $150 as well.\n\nCan we get some better pictures of the aftermarket headers and how the primary cats were eliminated? \n\nIt appears that the Dynamic Seats are not working? This is very common on these cars as they are now 20+ years old. The issue being the plastic bladder in the bolster, inflates and deflates so quickly that they become brittle in age. The bladder pumps are typically fine. Sadly, MB has discontinued new plastic bladders for the E55 and bladders from say a S55 or CLS do not fit.\n\nThis is an interesting car, it has been driven and shows. It has a few things wrong with it (sagging headliner, non-op trunk closer, partially working Keyless Go).
