The restrictor was welded in place and likely worked okay before the bellows were added to the pump handles and when pump handles were a little smaller. To work around it I partially insert the nozzle with it angled to the back of the filler neck and the end of the hose pointing to the 7 o\u2019clock position. Then I pull back on the bellows to start the fuel flow. It is not possible to fully insert the handle in any convenient manner where it does not contact the car. It also helps to find a handle that meters fuel well as full flow has the fuel pump shut off when the fuel splashes off the restrictor. One BaT member shared their work around that would work and I see that there is a fill through gas cap that might work too. Cars that were truly engineered to the highest level to be the best and fastest. AMG Hammers were slow by comparison, he went gunning for modified Porsche Turbos and V12 Italians. \r\n\r\nSteve built S38 Turbo cars in E28 and E24 platforms. But in my opinion, these M88 Turbo cars have the highest level of desirability, I've wanted one since reading about him, his company and road tests during the mid '80s when I was a teenager.\r\n\r\nFast forward to June '23, a red M-Tech kitted '86 M635 Dinan Turbo was listed on BaT and I was the high bidder. It might as well have been a Ferrari F40 or Porsche 959...I was that giddy with joy. \r\n\r\nSadly, the car I won was over-represented by the seller, and really was a running project at best. As I had several years of E24 AND M88 ownership experience under my belt I took this opportunity to completely rebuild the car: engine out, front & rear subframes removed, all brakes, paint work, some new leather... you name it. My garage for over a year, looked like the car had exploded. If you wanted to stub your toes, my garage was the place to be. As you can imagine my wife was thrilled at the mess! \r\n\r\nAfter all the blood sweat and tears (And money), I now have a car that is wicked. It punches like Mike Tyson in his prime and gallops like a cheetah at dinner time. My car is set at 9-10-psi of boost (wastegate controlled) and makes 394-whp, where it shines is in 3rd gear and standing on it. My car has incredible brakes fitted, 4-piston Wilwoods with 2-piece rotors and E34 rear calipers with vented rotors. \r\n\r\nE24s already handle great from the factory but upgraded with Dinan's suspension package it grips and rips. I eliminated all that on my car and installed a K&N cone filter that is fed cold air from behind the right headlight. \r\n\r\nOn my car it had the original Rayjay '80s wastegate, which I removed and installed a new TiAL 38mm wastegate and blow off valve for over pressure protection and eliminate compressor surge against the turbo impeller. I also made all new intercooler piping out of mandrel aluminum and built a new 3\" stainless exhaust that was then ceramic coated by Polydyn. I tried contacting Bavarium in Mountain View about getting some additional pictures of the area you are questioning. If I can get some more pictures I will. Unfortunately, I live about two hours from the car at present. I will provide you the best information I can at this time. \r\nRegarding those spots there is something occurring. I had the photographer really zoom in to capture it. The windshield has never been out and when replacement windshields are installed and if not done correctly or prepped well it can be problematic from a rust perspective. The paint is all original and is in very good condition. What probably looks off in other areas of the windshield rubber is that the photo is zoomed in and it\u2019s hard to wax right up and under the rubber. I think if some were to look in person at the car they would confirm the paint is in great to excellent condition. There are a few stone chips in the spoiler but not \u201csand blasted\u201d. The paint is worn thin on the body at the back edge of the hood. Pretty common as this is where the fingers rub against the car when opening the hood. In the pictures it almost looks like glare. On other cars I have had this sort of wear airbrushed at a good shop and it looks great. The area at the bottom of the windshield if I won the car I would first assess and if I really felt like it needed to be repaired I would get a good shop to work just in that area and not remove the windshield. Personal thing I guess but I feel like pulling windshield can do more harm than good in this situation. I did have a few minor dings removed. A couple were more like little distortions. I wish you could see it in person. I want to be 100% transparent and sincerely hope the winning bidder is not disappointed.\r\nOn the right side of the console there was a mount for Nokia cellular phone. Oil for engine, transmission and dif have almost always been Redline. I see in the paperwork that Mobil1 was used for a brief test and other than that Redline 20/50 is what used for the engine. The current round of work probably would have fallen in to the DIY category too but sometimes there are not enough hours in the day\u2026 Something that did fall in the DIY category last year was a crank no start at smog check time. Trouble shot and researched the matter and signs and online forums were pointing to an impulse sensor on the flywheel. Replaced them both, keeping the originals, and still no success. Finally determined it was the wiring harness connection at the air flow meter. Cleaned the contacts and all is good. Noted in the little black book.\r\nOn the odometer front I do not how many miles were on the \u201cclock\u201d when it was federalized or what was done to the US when installed. I suspect not very many as it was brought to the US and federalized very early in it\u2019s life. I also added another photo of the windshield area.
