My first track event in 1981 was at Watkins Glen, but 40 miles from the track ,the engine threw a rod..so much for matching engine numbers. The next engine was a carburated 2.2l S which I campaigned for seven year, the moved to a 2.4l for a few years. I finally built my favorite engine a high compression 2.7 l with MFI..In those days mechanical fuel injection was king but the Mg cases always leaked oil for the magnesium is trying to work its way back to the sea. Yes it has the stiffing kit Plus the the inner ears are tied into the roll cage both the front and rear of the ears. The rear trilaing has had cut delrin bushings with new rods. The weltmiester kit has round bushings. Unfortunately the trailing arms are not round but slightly elliptical and rubber bushing fill in the slack....so my mechanic at the time, made the custom carved delrin bushings to \"match\" the stock rubber bushings so there is no \"looseness\" in these bushings. The heater knob you see is actually the hand throttle for the 914-6.
