A 1967 Cougar GT 390/4spd was my very first ride in a hot 60's car when a friend's older brother got home intact from 'Nam and bought it new off the showroom floor. I'll never forget, it was white, no vinyl top with those great looking unique Cougar styled wheels. A few decades ago I was shown a GTE in deep storage in a local guys garage that hadn't been outside since the early 70s. Green, no vinyl top and not an XR7 which I think was unusual. As far as I know that car has not surfaced, and no I won't talk about where I saw it. Imagine if the Cougar had come out as the 1963 prototype? As a kid I built the IMC model which I thought was beautiful and more exciting than the mid-engine Mustang roadster. Fun to dig up these memories over this auction listing.
