The auto can have some easy valve body mods to make shifting quicker. Looks like all the Shelby parts are there. Does the radio function? Very unique setup. The motors and systems are super easy to fix so I wouldn't worry about it but making boost. Could be just the arm on the wastegate has come off. \r\n\r\nI bought mine in Reno after flying in, it ran but was a dog down low, drive it 800 miles home were it cut out a couple of times during a rain shower. The cam was retarded like 3 teeth on the belt but it made it just fine. Fixed the timing and installed an 88 harness with a flashable ECU and drove it around for a while always getting thumbs up and positive comments. It's currently getting a big power upgrade. Very fun and comfortable car that handles great. The 87 Shelby lancer used the same ground FX without the roof spoiler but got a larger rear sway bar, 4 wheel disc brakes, and the turbo 2 intercooled motor manufactured by Shelby. In 89 and 90 Dodge had the lancer Shelby with the same stuff as an 86 lancer Pacifica body wise with rear drums and the intercooled turbo 2 motor. I bought really long needle nose pliers to wiggle the wastegate arm on my GLHS when this would happen. (To the seller, maybe go to harbor freight and spend $10 for 8 inch long needle nose pliers. Look behind the motor and you can see the Turbo, a can bolted to it with a rod coming out of the can. Wiggle the rod back and forth. That should be enough to get it working. Confirm that there is a vacuum hose on the wastegate can. They are fantastic cars and really surprise people. I've never owned an Auto, but I love the leather interior! Parts are cheap, so no concern about that. There are some scary rare bits, rear disk brakes are unique to this car. They are Kelsey Hayes, but I'm not sure they were ever sold to any OEM. Chris Wright at Turbo's Unleashed is the turbo wizard.
