Hood insulation is actually in pretty good shape. The discoloration is due to a hose leak, which of course was replaced. The engine runs perfectly and cleanly, with no codes. Take a look at the smog test at the end of the pictures. In California for all older cars we are required to undergo a smog test, this includes a detailed inspection and testing of all emission components and an actual dyno run to assure the car meets the stringent California standards for HC, CO, etc. It\u2019s hard to pass and if anything is off the car will fail. This car has always passed with flying colors due to the fantastic condition it\u2019s in. Take a look at the numbers. I think this is the best indicator of engine health. I have changed the oil and filter every 3,000 or so miles and have run only Mobile 1 10-30. \r\n\r\nI don\u2019t remember if those are the original hose clamps on the radiator hoses, but both have been changed and are in great condition. The original overflow bottle is from my brother\u2019s SVO, it looks to be in great shape but I haven\u2019t tested it.\r\n\r\nI\u2019ve also changed the valve seals. I have loved the SVO since it was the introduced in 1984. I have always been an avid car guy, Mulholland Drive/autocross nut. I have had a lot of cool cars, starting with a \u201870 Series 1 Datsun 240 Z. I was driving a beautiful 1980 BMW 320 i S when the SVO came out. I test drove it and was totally blown away. It was so much better then my BMW. It was one of the fastest, best handling cars made in America. Totally worked over by Special Vehicle Operations. 16\u201d, 5 lug wheels (matched only be the new Corvette), 4 wheel ventilated discs and front A-arms from S Lincoln. Re-worked suspension with fully adjustable gas Konis, TRW steering rack. Borg Warner T-5 tranny with Hurst short throw shifter. Re-done pedals to enable heel and toe shifting. 3.45 limited slip. Re-done interior with fully adjustable Lear Seglar seats with pump up lumbar. Special leather steering wheel and shift knob. The same HP as the 5.0 V-8 but with double the gas mileage. Much more. The car was AWESOME and was beating 911s on the track.\n\nAnd the 85.5 was that much better!
