I'm the seller. :) @Bobo Dupree to answer your question about why spend $10k and not drive it...my Mom and Step Father gave me the car back in 1995 and hauled it out to California on a flatbed. It had been my Dad's before he passed away in 1978 and I wanted it more for the sentimental value than anything else. It was my intention to get it restored but I didn't have the money to do it at that time. In 1999 I got some money from a bonus and that's when I spent the $10k with Rich Kamp. I drove it back from SF but haven't driven it since (unless you consider pulling it out of the garage to take pictures driving it ;) ). I didn't drive it for a couple of reasons. First, I found that the insurance was prohibitively expensive for me for a car that I wasn't really planning to drive much and also I was just more worried about something happening to it. It's not really a very practical car for me...I know very little about cars and engines, etc. So, it has just been hanging out in my garage. My car has Chrome Sebring mirror, although I have seen Elan's with many different mirrors over the years. The ignition switch is on the steering column to activate the steering lock mechanism. My antenna is mounted on the rear drivers side. I think most Elan's were shipped without radios and dealers installed them.\nI have loved driving this car from the day I bought and, although it only gets driven in the summer on nice days now, I still love it. What I understand regarding the mirror was that they weren't fitted at the factory but were put on by dealers or owners so there is no one style which is correct.
