The previous owner told ne he was driving the backroads to Laguna Seca through Carmel Valley, not a fast road, and he hit wet leaves at the edge of a corner slid slowly down the edge of the road and \"gently\" rolled onto its top. I have no pictures from before or of the accident.\r\n\r\nThe K16s would NOT be considered an upgrade, but I wanted to be completely transparent about the car.\r\n\r\nAfter I'd had the car about 5 years the boost dropped. My mechanic tried several fixes and diagnosed the turbos bad. I had been told by the previous owner the turbos were tuned but had no idea who the tuner was or what modifications had been done. My mechanic had a pair of K16 take offs from a customer that upgraded his 996TT and installed those to see if that fixed the boost. I was happy with the result, the boost easily hits .9 bar and on long pulls will hit 1.2. The paint looks great, even for a car that was tracked.\r\n\r\nAs mentioned in the description, the front end has been repainted. When I bought the car it had PPF on the hood and front end, after several years it became dull and impossible to get a good polish on. I researched Rennlist and studied YouTube videos before taking it off. Started with the hood and things went well until the very end when a palm sized piece of clear coat came off with the PPF. Feeling like an idiot I took it to a local body shop who specialize in Porsches and they thought I was an idiot too until the clear coat lifted on both fenders when they tried to remove the PPF. They had no explanation, said it may have been applied incorrectly. So the front end was repainted. The only PPF left on the car is the side mirrors, I just left that alone.\r\n\r\nI've always been OCD about cleaning this car. I only wash it myself, in the shade, with microfiber towels used only for the car that are washed twice and dried with no fabric softener. I often polished it with Klasse Polish followed by P21S wax. I would typically schedule a day off work after a track day to to carefully clean all the rubber dings and wash the whole car. After taking that wheel off I could see the front driver's side coilover is leaking fluid. My mechanic recommends removing, rebuilding, and reinstalling all four coilovers. He estimates that will take 3-4 weeks and cost about $5,000. The coilovers are near 20 years old so I'm inclined to agree that rebuilding all four is the best solution.\r\n\r\nI've asked BaT to update the listing with this new information so it's clear to all. The current high bid is below reserve so will not be accepted if the auction ends as is. If the car does not make reserve I'll proceed to get the coilovers rebuilt and you may see the car here again this summer.\r\n\r\nIf it makes reserve, I'll know the buyer is aware of the car's condition and they will have the chance to decide if they want to rebuild , replace, or even return the suspension to a stock setup.
