I'm not going to see a positive return here overall, but my other issue is this is the only car in the household and I need something a lot more practical. So back to a boring lease for me, but someone will have a good time.\r\n\r\nI'll also repeat from another comment, the 3-year/36k mile warranty I have on this is transferable to the new owner, so anything outside of wear and tear should be covered. Fortunately I got one that was essentially in good shape, according to my trusted independent mechanic, and I was able to address all the storage issues it had. Since it's spent its entire life in Southern California I wasn't as concerned about corrosion as I would have been if it had been almost anywhere else and there is no sign of that at all. Everything else was just because it's 20 years old. \r\n\r\nThe old tires were the main problem when I bought it. CarFax says they were changed in 2018, the Aston dealer told me they were 12 years old. Either way, they were brittle like plastic, no grip, and bone-rattling ride quality. Changing them to new Michelins has been the biggest improvement.\r\n\r\nAfter that the shocks and control arm bushings have improved the ride no end. The rattling from the worn bushings has gone. And having working AC is pleasant in this part of the world.\r\n\r\nThe engine has been flawless though - starts immediately every time, is eager, and has endless power on the freeway, which is where the whole car comes alive. On the open road it just flies, quiet and competent. A real pleasure to drive. And being naturally aspirated there's no turbo lag. When you need to overtake something you do not have a delay or a problem. Engine temperature locks at the midway point on the dial and I've never seen it move higher, even in a traffic jam in a heatwave in downtown LA. \r\n\r\nIf it could cart furniture around and pick up my parents from the airport I'd keep it forever.
