Overall I think these cars are aging wonderfully. \n\nThat interior is probably going to be problematic to many. As far as I can tell, if the interior bothers you, there are two real options, and neither is terribly difficult or expensive. \n\nFirst, you can keep the leather as-is, and replace the burlwood with either carbon fiber or black ash wood. This would be a much better match for the sporty aesthetic of the two-tone seats.\n\nThe other option is to simply dye the burnt-orange leather black, and leave everything else alone. The monotone color palette will work far better with the burlwood. \n\nSo if the interior does bother you, a couple grand at an interior shop will fix you up just fine. Nothing I'd call a dealbreaker for an otherwise really beautiful and rare car. At about 80K miles the differential was seeping fluid through the rear cover. So this bears watching because a new differential is a few thousand $. My mechanic who worked at a Jaguar dealership at time these cars came out said that this was a common issue.\n\nThe oil cooled's hoses have a tendency to go. I was driving on the e- way and all of a sudden I saw a huge plume of blue/black smoke and the my oil pressure went to nothing and I thought that I blew the motor, I was very relieved when I found out that it was the oil cooler hose even though it was an $800- repair. This is a case of the photos not doing justice to the big picture. The interior of these cars is quintessential British, nobody is going to change a thing. One thing I am surprised the seller didn't highlight more in the pictures is how the red stitching really pops against the black. I always liked the orangey-red color, my wife never really warmed up to it. Then again, I was --this close-- to bidding on that Inca Red SD300 a couple weeks back!\r\n\r\nThe driving experience is everything you expect it to be, the smoothest transition of power to the road you will find. It takes longer than you would expect for the beast to wind up and go, but when it's ready, holy crap the car goes...\r\n\r\nThe circa 2004 GPS system was laughable back when I owned mine, by today's standards it's best just to leave the thing in clock mode. We still joke about the time we followed that GPS and it routed us all around our destination but never actually got us there!\r\n\r\nOn a positive note, the curb rash on those awesome wheels is an easy fix, the damage is on stainless steel trim rings, not the wheels. My recollection is the trim rings are replaceable without removing the tires, and the rings cost $90 about 6 years ago. \r\n\r\nDriving top down without the boot cover is possible, but so much more enjoyable with the boot cover on to negate the minor flapping of the retracted top.
