I am here to try and answer any questions about the vehicle, as well as give some background and explain why I am selling it.\n\nThis 1993 Mercedes SEL500 was purchased new by Robert Pferdmenges, son of the wealthy German banker and politician Robert Pferdmenges, at Lone Star Mercedes-Benz in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The car quickly passed into my family after roughly one year. Mr. Pferdmenges gifted it to a relative of mine as a bonus for helping him with some consulting work. The car stayed with my relative until 2017, when he gifted it to me. \n\nThe car has been garage kept and modestly driven for its entire life. Rigorously maintained, and routinely driven every year at least once in order to keep all the necessary seals wet and keep the car in working order. A trickle charger has been religiously used to maintain the battery, which was also replaced in 2020. This part of Canada does not use heavy salt in the winter, and in addition to the car being rarely driven in the winter, the undercarriage is in immaculate shape as a result.\n\nFor your convenience, a full pre-sale inspection was completed on August 29, 2024, prior to the listing of this vehicle. It shows that there is a leak in the power-steering somewhere, the front driver side tire has a slow leak, and the rear brake pads are low. Everything else in the car is in original working order, and performs incredibly well. The few scratches on the paint are surface-level and very minor, as the paint meter shows, and I imagine could be very easily buffed out.\n\nWhy I am selling the vehicle:\nI love this car, and am truly sad to see it go. The reason I am selling is because I ended up moving to a different city, and am unable to move it with me. My house does not have a garage, and this car deserves an owner that will love it and look after it. Low miles, and there are no glaring signs of tampering by inexperienced mechanics. This car will need the engine wiring harnesses gone through. The other issue for most potential buyers is importing from Canada.\r\n\r\n-Rear sunshade is a nice option to have, rest of the equipment seems standard for a 500.\r\n-Driver's side rear reflector will need to be opened up and cleaned out\r\n-Original stereo, original insulated intake ducts (NLA), and red sticker on rear tailgate indicate it's not been messed with\r\n\r\nTo the seller: Thank you for considering selling this car rather than keeping it ungaraged. They do not like UV rays. Photographs of the trunk lock button area (where these cars rust) and the rear vanity mirrors and third brake light (plastic deformation indicates being stored outside in the UV rays for long periods of time) will help the sale. Calgary has a very high UV index, given its relatively high elevation in proximity to the Rocky Mountains. This may explain the signs of UV rays on those parts. There is no rust anywhere on the vehicle. There are close up photos of the trunk lock button in the gallery.\n\nIn addition, I tried my best to visually inspect the wiring with the mechanic when the August inspection was done.
