Pads with wear sensors (front) are still available for a very reasonable amount. As an owner of two 91 200TQA and an 89 MC2 200TQA, I can attest to their reliability and are the definition of a Qship. The safety is and storage capacity are still amazing feats of engineering with 28 MPG on the highway!. Yes, I'm a bit bias but, it is accurate that an 3B or AAN are easily capable of 700-800 horse and one the reasons that the fire breathing class of Group B rally ceased. Cudos to the owner for keeping her clean and to the new owner for preserving history. This went on for nearly 20 miles and provided untold entertainment for my brother and I. That was one of the best driving automobiles I've ever owned. The only problem was every time I took it in for service it cost me a small fortune. It's fun to think I've owned over 2% of the total. I've put a few miles of them in the process ;-), skinned my knuckles plenty working on them, embarrassed more than a few boy racers on the street in my younger days, taken my two sons home from the hospital in one (making their first car ride in a TQW was fun), and even driven them on tracks as an HPDE instructor. I still own one and once a year or so I bring it to the local dragway on \"Street Night\" and it will pull a sub 15 second quarter mile without beating on it. The fact that if allowed I could do that with my wife and kids and a big dog in the back is as priceless as the looks I get from the guy or gal in the other Lane at the Christmas tree. As an owner veteran of 4 Audi 90 20v's I can also tell you that these cars are even easier to work on and from my experience, more reliable, and a ton more fun. As a highway cruiser they are tough to beat and will still hold their own even in 2017. Replacing the outstanding UFO brakes with the commonly substituted G60's is a big mistake in my opinion. Not to mention, I know from personal experience that a set of used UFO's make a terrific anchor for a light duty boat mooring. The leather is top quality and long lasting given just a little bit of care and the fit and finish was up to the top standard for its day. I have had my current TQW for some 12 years now and it has and continues to be remarkably trouble free even though my car was used for the cover photo of the last edition of the 3 volume Bentley Manual Set. These cars had an original sticker of about $42k in 1991 and with Audi's recent bad press at the time and no option for an automatic its no wonder not a lot were sold. You could only specify interior and exterior colors and either \"Sport\" or \"Comfort\" seats for options. I've owned them in grey on grey, lago on black, and my current \"gold\" on travertine (it grows on you ;-). One thing is for sure, you hardly ever see yourself coming down the street and they still look nearly as sharp today as they did some 28 years ago when they hit the showroom floor. The new owner will have a car that is likely the only one in their county, if not state, a significant piece of Audi history, and a time capsule reminder of when Audi was still a bit of a quirky company greatly appreciated by those who really loved cars and not just another \"also ran\" in a sea of relative sameness. Also had the sedan equivalent in Pearl White that was known as the Steamboat Beater in the Colorado Audi circles, also looked great and drove extremely well. Euro headlights on these will light up the night like the sun. Have since moved on to various next generation model Audi Turbos, but these two 20v's bit me hard, in all the good ways. The 850 Turbo, which is esentially this car minus the AWD went on sale in the early 90s. In 1995 the 850 T-5R (later simply 850R) was introduced, and that was developed by Porsche. Passive rear steering meant .9Gs, 250 hp/torque meant 5.8 seconds to 60mph, and one of the best interiors available at the time made it possibly the best all-round car for anyone with less than 7 zeroes in their bank account. If you don't believe that these were awesome perfomance machines, just look up '850r BTCC'.
