Also, most people who track these just put steel rotors on instead so that they don\u2019t have to destroy the carbon ones. The advantage to ceramic rotors is they give you multiple visual clues when they are cooked, and in my experience I've never ever had to measure anything, I just looked at them and said 'yep' or 'nope'. So y'all quit your whining about the eight methods of measurement.\nTwo, if street driven, the PCCBs should last 'forever'. What's forever? Easily 100k miles if pad replacement is done on time (every 25-40k miles depending on driving style).\nThree, the PCCBs main advantages are weights savings and elimination of brake dust. Do they stop better? Sure, a little bit, but if you are going to track the car more than once or twice a year, you rip the PCCBs off, throw them on a shelf, and do a Girodisc setup for about $2500 all in. I proceeded to call Porsche of Colorado Springs and talked to the service department. While they had purged their files of the hard copy, I gave him this VIN and he did still have notes on the car from the PPI, verbally verified the information which had been given to me in 2016 and posted on Rennlist, and also stating (THIS WAS A VERBAL STATEMENT, NOT VERIFIED WITH DOCUMENTATION) that he remembered putting a meter on the car and finding that the entire car had been painted (10-15mil thicknesses). He also noted that an estimate had been written at a local body shop. I proceeded to call them and they verified that an estimate had been written but refused to give me any information beyond that.\nAgain, I have verified this verbally to my satisfaction, but there is no written documentation of this other than private communication through Rennlist and a public post (which did not include the VIN and therefore does not come up with a search). Neither I nor the current owner know if the issues which were brought up in the PPI in Feb of 2016 were repaired or not, but given the current owner's apparent level of mechanical expertise and his forthright description and responses, I would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that they have been since repaired.
