Undercarriage needs attention as well. \n\nToo many indicators of a 'Splash'n'Dash' collision repair, (as @keith k also noticed) from front to back on the passenger side from what I can see in the photos.\nThere is damage under the rocker moulding that is beat up and held on by sheet metal screws, which tells me the pins for the clips are either gone or buried under bondo, bondo cracking at the rear of the front fender, also something going on with the door and rear quarter looking at the full on side shot, the roof trim has not been properly installed as the vinyl roof is overlapping it and then more evidence of bondo again where the rear quarter and bottom valence meet.\nAnd then there's the 'cheapo, stick-on body side moulding' acting as wheel well trim. Old trick of the trade there. Done that lots for 'car-curbers' way back when I was an apprentice painter out of high school.\n\nNot sure what was stored in the trunk but the floor looks kinda crunchy.\n\nToo many unknowns here considering it's an 'original owner' car with unknown mileage, no service records, no mention of why the repaint was done, etc.\n\n\"The car reportedly runs and drives.\"\nWere any fluids checked or changed prior to pulling it out and taking the driving photos instead of a driving video?\nStorage conditions don't appear to have been the greatest either.\n\nConsidering the friend selling the car is a member here, I would have expected a better presentation.\nIf it was me, I would have put a weekend into cleaning it up and performing some standard maintenance. \nI would have also put more effort into the ad itself .\nAs the moment, it's a 'Reserve' auction Firebird with a 'No Reserve' presentation. I had a 69 Chevy Malibu convertible with a Muncie 4 speed in a center console. The geniuses at GM designed it with an entire column shift linkage just to get the ignition switch to lock the transmission. I'm not sure exactly what gear the transmission was supposed to lock into, sometimes it would get into two gears at once when you parked it and you would have to slide under the car with a 9/16 wrench to sort things out. Quite fun on a date, in fact, it was a wonderful sorter of suitable and unsuitable girlfriends. The clip was from the same color car so I avoided repainting. Bondoed up the rust in the rear wheel arches and lower quarters, rebuilt the trans, and it was good to go! 350 (260HP), 2bbl, 3-on-the-floor (Hurst), single exhaust, and optional wire wheel covers, PS/PB, flip down rear seat, vinyl top, and 4-piston (yes) front disk brakes. No posi, but with cheap recap snow tires it was OK in winter. However, I was under the impression that the 400 cars received rear traction bars from the factory on both sides. Perhaps this was a 1967 feature. Friend of mine has a 67 that has them. The 1967 Camaros that were equipped with the SS 350 motors or the big block motors had them on the passenger side only to help control wheel hop that was a byproduct of the monoleaf springs wrapping up.
