They are easy to work on, there is an incredible amount of aftermarket parts support and there is a strong British Car Community, both online and locally that is always willing to help out. And, when everything is buttoned up and running, they are a heck of a lot of fun to drive. \r\n\r\nI can say this based on my own personal experience when I took the plunge into the vintage car hobby with a 1969 Austin Healey Sprite -- which is essentially similar to this car, save a few trim pieces. I had done little more than change oil before buying the Sprite. I've now gone through the car from top to bottom from items as complex as a head gasket change to putting a new top on the car. About the only thing I haven't done is pulled the motor and transmission. All the skills that I learned (and tools that I have acquired), I was able to parlay into my next project. \r\n\r\nBut, it's not just about tinkering. The Sprite taught me just how fun driving can be.
