In the 15 months I worked there, we only got 2 - one was a demo for the owner of our dealership, the other was a customer ordered car from a guy who drove 5 hours from home because I was the only salesman remotely close by who actually knew the car. The ordering process was brutal, and took forever - just getting them across the pond took months due to customs being customs. \r\nI still believe these will be future classics. To everyone else, it was a new Impalbu, until you turned it on in the parking lot, or you passed them on the road. I sold it for $45 and traded it for a '68 Bronco half cab restomod. The manual is a game changer for the SS and when you bound around corners with the exhaust flaps open it\u2019s fun to imagine your piloting a Australian Super V8 car around Bathhurst. I was getting ready to buy a manual 2015 M5, but I was utterly disappointed. It was a much nicer place to be, but nowhere near as fun to drive. Hard to place in a corner and that clutch/trans combo is not good. It pained me to pay the same money for the used SS as the used M5, but I have the better car for me. This is the car BMW would have made back when the M badge meant motorsports and not marketing. It is not as connected as my E39 M5 and especially my 330zhp, but the balance is perfect and it\u2019s a better car than both of them. The manual is a game changer for the SS and when you bound around corners with the exhaust flaps open it\u2019s fun to imagine your piloting a Australian Super V8 car around Bathhurst. I was getting ready to buy a manual 2015 M5, but I was utterly disappointed. It was a much nicer place to be, but nowhere near as fun to drive. Hard to place in a corner and that clutch/trans combo is not good. It pained me to pay the same money for the used SS as the used M5, but I have the better car for me.
