That was on a BN2 in 1973. And I have been involved in restoration professionally since the early '80s.\r\nI have seen several instances of projects that were essentially a subject car with one or more parts donor cars, all in pieces at the same time. Over the duration of the project, stuff and paperwork get mixed up. After doing a few major jobs it becomes apparent that there are many detail and several significant differences between similar models of Healeys. The factory made running changes as they saw fit and to successfully finish a restoration to an actual functioning car, education is required. Not easy to get as reality is required, not just opinions even if collective. That led to Concours. Reality plus cosmetic correctness.\r\nIn this case the reality clues are the axle, the firewall plates and the matching holes in the firewall to secure them. A confirmation will be the body number stampings on the cockpit edging pieces if they match the other stampings and ghe firewall body plate number.\r\nThe edging pieces are more important than hood or trunklid numbers because those 2 items are often replaced as easy collision repairs. The doors much less often and almost never the other segments. Why important? Because those segments were drilled individually and the holes only match exactly to the body part they left the factory on. So they are not interchangeable unless at least one or two holes are re-drilled. That is why they were stamped - so the holes were drilled, then the pieces removed and stored while body was sent for painting. After painting and upholstery, the alloy segments were reunited with their own pre-drilled body. I had one when I was young and stupid, with the block removed. It would beat a corvette of the line and the rear end would hit the ground with sparks when i hit secound gear. The reason the first gear was blocked was becase it was gearded so low. Mine also had the old steering gear housesing, so if one wanted, it could be converted to right hand drive. I even had an exra dashboard but never had the desire to go to right hand drive. Sorry just remissing on a great fun old car I had. Our family had two Healeys. the other was a 1000.
