If you ease into gear, it won't grind, but any quick shifts will cause it to. Otherwise, the trans shifts well, I have RedLine in the trans, and the short shifter has a new bearing which improved engagement a lot. Replacing the clutch line with stainless also helped. I considered buying a MartinCrawler R154 for a while but just never did.\n3) I am not entirely sure about a new one; those are hard to find. I knew about the spliced wiring after the removal of the aftermarket electric fans so I figured that was what they were talking about. As you can see in the latest photos, there is a couple of areas where wires are cut. The only systems I am aware of that do not work are the auxiliary electric A/C fans (also pictured) so those wires may also be damaged. Other than this, I am unaware of any other issues with the harness but I wanted to emphasize in the description that the harness has issues. However, I haven't noticed any effect on the drivability of the car. A few months ago, I drove it 40 miles one way and back home without issue. I haven't driven it that far since except to move it and some light driving around town.\r\n\r\nThe other pictures show the battery terminals which I replaced along with aftermarket grounding wires when I started having some loss of power issues around 10 years ago but that issue has not happened since. The power draw issue is one I haven't been solve since I owned it; after discharging some batteries, I have just removed the negative terminal when I let it sit. \r\n\r\nTo clarify something else, the A/C system (still R12) did work up until a couple years ago after the recharge with no electrical issues except for the aux fans. The hatch trim has foam washers under the mounting studs that rot away, and the taillight seals are known to be fragile. Both fixable issues.
